Psychiatrist Ministry of health estimated the number of drug users in Russia
MOSCOW, 13 Dec — RIA Novosti. In Russia, about four million people are drug users, said the chief psychiatrist of the Ministry of health Yevgeny Bryun at a press conference.
“According to our estimates, about 4 million drug users, it is not sick. We need to clearly separate: there are sick, they come to us and are treated, there are consumers who at least once used a drug,” he said.
Brune added that the consumers are the people who have tried drugs at least once.
“There has been a trend. (number) standing on the account for about 2-3% per year is reduced, but is reduced due to heroin addicts,” said Brun.
He noted that in General, there is erosion of heroin from the structure of drug consumption. “To replace him come synthetic drugs that come from Europe or from China. As far as I know, Russian production of these drugs does not exist”, — said the psychiatrist.
