The Pechersky district court of Kyiv freed the former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili. On Monday, December 11, reports RIA Novosti.

The judge Larisa Sokol rejected the petition of Prosecutor’s office of the house arrest of the disgraced politician and released him on bail of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.

Earlier in court Saakashvili called himself a prisoner of the Ukrainian oligarchy and sang the national anthem with his supporters.

In the night of 9 December, the former President of Georgia was detained in the apartment of his friend and placed in a temporary detention facility. Since then, Saakashvili announced an indefinite hunger strike.

A previous attempt to arrest him on 5 December failed to the security forces — the supporters of the leader of the “Movement of new forces” surrounded the van in which he was, and delivered the policy, against which Ukraine opened three criminal cases.
