The leader of the faction “Batkivshchyna” in the Verkhovna Rada Yulia Tymoshenko urged President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to release the former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili. On Saturday, December 9, reported on the website of “Batkivshchyna”.
“Mr. President, you have taken away the memory. You forgot that the way to arrest Saakashvili, already. To paraphrase my friend, I will say that you are stepping on the same rake. You instead of kicking the rake”, — said Tymoshenko.
“To immediately cancel all of your team. Do not disgrace Ukraine in the eyes of the world and its own people”, — said the politician to the President.
Saakashvili, was detained in the night of Saturday, December 9, in Kiev and placed in a temporary detention facility. Earlier on Saturday, the politician declared the beginning of termless hunger strike.
In October Tymoshenko said that the democratic forces “Fatherland” and “movement new forces,” Saakashvili should operate.
On 17 October the Ukrainian opposition has begun an indefinite protest at the Parliament. The protesters have set up tents, barricades and a field kitchen. The number of demonstrators entered the movement of Saakashvili and the activists of “Batkivshchyna”.
