Donald trump has approved new sanctions against Russia. This writes the newspaper Politico, citing a senior source in the administration of the President of the United States.

According to the journalists, the new restrictive measures aimed at preventing the withdrawal of Russia from the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty). The sanctions would “change the economic plans” of the Russian government.

According to the White house, Moscow violates the agreement under which both countries are forbidden to have and to develop missiles with a range of from 500 to 1000 and from 1000 to 5500 kilometers.

Russia, in turn, indicates the violation of the American side in the part of armed drones and allowed the ship-based launchers Mk-41 on land, as happened in Romania and Poland.

December 8, Deputy Secretary of state Thomas Shannon said the US is prepared to resort to military solutions to create a system of medium-range missiles in case Russia violates the INF Treaty. In Moscow, in turn, retorted that in the event of a US withdrawal from the agreement, Russia will prepare a more powerful weapon.
