Greenpeace did not believe the conclusions of “Rosatom” on the causes of release of ruthenium-106

Informed experts came to the conclusion that the source of the leak, most likely, was burnt satellite.

Moscow. 8 Dec. INTERFAX.RU IN “Greenpeace Russia” dissatisfied with the conclusions of the Commission “Rosatom” about the causes of the leakage of the isotope ruthenium-106 and require further independent investigation.

“Greenpeace of Russia” has launched a petition, which demands to carry out a full inspection for the release of ruthenium-106 in the air on the territory of the Russian Federation with participation of independent experts and members of the public, — said the press service of “Greenpeace Russia”, received by “Interfax” on Friday.

According to environmentalists, the conclusion that the release of ruthenium can result in falling satellite, insolvent — “such incidents can happen quickly,” reads the release. The organization believes that the cause of the radioactive isotopes in the atmosphere “is still unknown,” although the time of collection of the samples took more than two months.
