Moscow. 7 Dec. INTERFAX.RU the Court in Bratsk (Irkutsk region) has sentenced a local resident to 12 years in prison for the murder of a stranger he mistook for his wife’s lover, accidentally going in their apartment.

On the website Padunskaya district court Bratsk reported that 25-year-old man convicted under part 1 of article 105 of the criminal code (murder), the punishment he will serve his sentence in a strict regime colony.

“The convict just got the wrong house. The wife lived in the house 17 “g”, and he went in the 17th house. In his opinion, if he had not been intoxicated, he would not have committed a crime”, — is spoken in the message.

Earlier it was reported that the defendant, returning home at night, he heard behind his door, as he thought, apartments, male and female voices, and decided that the wife was cheating on him. When the door opened 40-year-old man, he killed him with a knife in the chest.

In the investigation of the crime revealed that the young man mistakenly came instead of his house adjacent to the same location, the apartments on the landing. Apartment doors are also visually different from each other.
