Rodchenkov expressed fears for his life

Informant world anti-doping Agency (WADA) Grigory Rodchenkov feared for his life, despite the provision of the U.S. witness protection program. This was stated by the lawyer of the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory Jim Walden, reports Insidethegames.

According to him, Rodchenkov “proud” of the decision of the Executive Committee of the IOC stripped Russian team from participation in the Olympic games in 2018, but “to the end of life will be forced to look over your shoulder”. Walden has described Russia as a “very determined and difficult opponent” for his client.

On December 5 it became known that Rodchenkov suffers from a psychiatric disorder. According to the documents, he made a suicide attempt in 2011 in the state of alcoholic intoxication. In Sri behalf of the Sklifosovsky he put a mental diagnosis: “depressive episode severe with psychotic symptoms”.

Rodchenkov moved to the United States in January 2016, after which he became an informant to WADA. He accused the winners of the 2014 Games out of Russia in the use of illegal drugs.
