MOSCOW, 5 Dec. /TASS/. The fifth generation fighter, the su-57 (also known as T-50) made its first flight with the engine of the second stage. About it journalists were reported by the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation.

“The fifth of December, 2017 in LII. M. M. Gromov made the first flight of the latest Russian fifth generation fighter T-50 with the engine of the second stage”, – reported in the Ministry of industry.

Flight was made chief pilot of the company “Sukhoi” (part of UAC) Sergey Bogdan. The flight duration was 17 minutes. “The flight went normally, in accordance with the terms of the flight task,” – said in the Ministry.

“Successful flight with the new engine gives further impetus to the program of the fifth generation fighter. It proves the high potential of the Russian aircraft industry, capable of creating highly intelligent advanced systems – a unique glider, innovative digital stuffing, the latest engines,” – said the head of Ministry of industry and trade Denis Manturov.

Promising aviation complex tactical aviation (PAK FA, su-57) – multi-role fighter of the fifth generation designed to destroy all types of aerial targets at long and close range, and destroy ground and surface targets enemy, breaking his air defense systems. The first flight of the PAK FA held on 29 January 2010 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
