Foreign Minister of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, called for a review of European and German policy towards the US and more confident to defend their interests. It is reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung, with reference to the text of the upcoming speech by the foreign Minister at the Berlin forum of the Fund named Cerberus Tuesday, 5 December.
According to him, the President, Donald trump United States “a weak role internationally significant political force.” Gabriel noted that the United States began to perceive Germany, in particular, “as one partner many.”
“This means that we inevitably perceive as rivals,” he added.
The head of the German foreign Ministry called on Germany in the future more confident to represent their own interests. Gabriel also stressed the need “to identify the position and if necessary carry out red lines beyond which the partners can’t come in”.
On July 28 Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany criticized anti-Russian sanctions of the USA imposed the day before, due to the fact that they affect the interests of European enterprises.
The concern of EU countries is the situation the new U.S. law on sanctions, under which they can get and companies from the European Union. The restrictive measures will affect those organizations which intend to invest in a strip of Russian export pipelines, and to provide for their construction, services, information and support to provide technology.
