The U.S. has moved from Iraq into Syria in a taxi

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

The leader of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia), Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi moved from Iraq to Syria. It is reported by the Egyptian newspaper Ad Dustour, citing sources in the Iraqi intelligence service.

According to the interlocutor of the edition, al-Baghdadi travelled from Iraq’s Anbar province to Syria, presumably in Deir ez-Zor. To ensure the secrecy of his movements the U.S. has insisted on are inconspicuous car, ordinary taxis are yellow.

On 28 September it was reported that al-Baghdadi made an appeal to his followers. The text of his statement indicated that he is aware of what is happening in areas of armed clashes between members of the IG with government forces in Syria and Iraq. In particular, in the speech of the leader of ISIS mentioned the meeting of inter-Syrian negotiators “Astana-6”, held in mid-September 2017.

In June of this year, the defense Ministry and the foreign Ministry of Russia reported that the U.S. likely was killed in a Russian air strike on 28 may near the Syrian Raqqa. Subsequently, however, this information was not received in evidence: it refused to confirm the Director of the foreign intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, and the interior Ministry of Iraq said that al-Baghdadi still alive and hiding in Syria.

About the destruction of al-Baghdadi said in June and December 2016 in April of 2015 (it was noted that he was severely wounded and died in hospital), and in November of 2014. In January 2017, it was reported that al-Baghdadi wounded in air strike and is in critical condition. In October 2016 appeared information that the leader was poisoned. All these reports were not confirmed.
