London’s oldest gentlemen’s club will take on some woman

MOSCOW, November 6 — RIA Novosti. One of the oldest men’s clubs in London Savile Club will accept into its ranks a woman for the first time in its 150-year history, writes the Telegraph.

The club, located in the fashionable Mayfair district, was founded in 1868. Previously elite institution was visited by Robert Louis Stevenson, Alexander Milne, and Rudyard Kipling. Currently the members are John Le carré and Stephen fry.

According to the newspaper, talking about a man who had been at the club, but decided to change gender. Administrative Committee of the Savile Club decided that it would be able to remain a member of the gentlemen’s club and after the completion of the transformation process.
