As Russia celebrated national unity Day

In Russia celebrated one of the young holiday — Day of national unity. In the celebrations across the country was attended by about 1.5 million people.

On Saturday the President of Russia Vladimir Putin laid flowers to the monument to Minin and Pozharsky on red square. The ceremony was also attended by the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, heads of denominations, as well as members of the presidential Council for interethnic relations, representatives of youth organizations. The President also handed in state awards in the Kremlin and visited the exhibition “Russia looking into the future” in the Arena.

In the far East the Day of national unity spoke about the rallies, outdoor concerts and national festivals. Residents of Primorye and Kamchatka were able to get acquainted with the traditions of indigenous peoples, and the inhabitants of Khabarovsk — dance arts of Dagestan. In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk has hosted the open media Park “Russia — my story”.

One such Museum opened on Saturday in Nizhny Novgorod. It is the largest Russian multimedia project “live” tutorial, in which the whole history of the country is represented panoramically with the help of modern technology.

In Yakutia, the celebrations were held under the sign of the 385-anniversary of the occurrence of the region into the Russian state. On Saturday for the first time in a week after a series of cyclones established clear weather.

Siberians celebrated the Day of national unity despite the cloudy and windy weather, mass dances, tasting national dishes, a living-history festival and master classes in carving crafts and the possession of the sword. On the main square of Novosibirsk came to celebrate the holiday, several hundred people. They waited for the folk festival, food courts, as well as mass dances, fireworks show at the end of the day.

Yekaterinburg celebrated the national unity Day procession in honour of Kazan icon of mother of God and the opening of the memorial to the Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia’s Vasily and Alexander Margelova. In the evening on the tower in the center of the city appeared laser illumination with the words “We are one”.
