Alexander Ovechkin and Vladimir Putin
The Kremlin welcomed the desire of the hockey player Alexander Ovechkin to support the President of Russia Vladimir Putin by creating a social movement Putin Team, said press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov. His words on Friday, November 3, leads TASS.
“We certainly welcome the General willingness Sasha to Express support for our President, especially from abroad. (…) Sasha is indeed a very famous Russian, a very successful Russian, and we know he appreciates our President”, — said Peskov.
He added that the Kremlin is not yet known in what form will be implemented this initiative.
November 1, on his page on Instagram who plays for the club NHL Alexander Ovechkin announced the creation of movement in support of the Russian leader, which he decided to call Putin Team (“Team Putin”). He added that he always openly supported the President.
July 8, Putin congratulated the hockey player and his beloved Anastasia Subsky with the wedding. As reported in the Kremlin, the President gave the newlyweds a tea set.
Ovechkin has repeatedly dressed in a t-shirt with image of Putin. In addition, the captain “Washington capitals” and the President played hockey.
