Lavrov: US trying sanctions to press Russia on the arms market in the energy sector

MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. Washington’s sanctions intended to put pressure on Moscow for markets, arms and energy. This was stated on Tuesday the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov at the meeting with members of the Association of European businesses.

“Under the pretext of fighting the Russian threat in Washington is not only seeking to patch up the so-called transatlantic solidarity, not only to force the Europeans to increase defense spending, but also to promote their economic and power position in Europe, to press our joint projects in the energy sector, to press Russia on the arms market that focused on the latest portion of sanctions which was published,” – said Lavrov.
