Baikal killed more than 130 individuals seals
KRASNOYARSK, 31 Dec — RIA Novosti. More than 130 dead seals with no signs of damage found on the shores of lake Baikal in the Irkutsk region and Buryatia Republic, said Tuesday the RIA Novosti news Agency in the Baikal inter-regional management of Rosprirodnadzora.
“On the evening of 30 October the total number of found dead animals of 132 species. They discovered on the shore of Baikal in Irkutsk region and Buryatia Republic. The bodies of no mechanical damage, which suggests that it is unlikely the animals are killed. The results of data professionals, data about the epidemic yet,” said the territorial representative of Rosprirodnadzor Irina Shushakova.
Earlier in a press-service of the government of the Irkutsk region reported that at the end of last week veterinary service of the region and of the fgbi “Sacred Baikal” organized a trip to establish the fact of death of the seal. Dead animals discovered on a stretch of 77 km between port Baikal and Kultuk.
