The scientists said, why not eat alone

MOSCOW, 29 Sep — RIA Novosti. A team of South Korean scientists has found that food intake alone increases the risk of metabolic syndrome, leading to the deposition of abdominal fat. A review of the research published on the website of the journal Obesity Research & Clinical Practice.

Experts analyzed the results of the survey, which involved 7752 persons, and calculated how often a particular Respondent eats alone. Based on clinical statistics, they found that fans of eating alone more often diagnosed with metabolic syndrome and, consequently, weight gain visceral fat.

For men, dinner alone at least twice a day, the probability of occurrence of the syndrome was 64% higher than those who prefer to eat in company. In women, this figure was 29%. The risk of obesity in men has increased by 45%.

“These results indicate that food intake alone may be a factor influencing the occurrence of metabolic syndrome,” the article says.
