Sobchak spoke about the role of Stalin in the country’s history
TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak, who put forward his candidacy for presidential elections, negatively assessed the role of Joseph Stalin in Russia’s history. In her opinion, the Soviet leader, has set the country a century ago and has committed a crime against their own people.
“He did everything to throw the country a century ago” — quoted Ksenia Sobchak “RIA Novosti” with reference to Instagram of the presenter. She doesn’t see “anything controversial” in the assessment of the Generalissimo and believes that Joseph Stalin committed an unprecedented crime against their own people.
She said that Stalin had built a system “which failed to break here neither Gorbachev nor Yeltsin.”

Ksenia Sobchak has previously stated its intention to participate in presidential elections in 2018. The presenter positions himself as the candidate “against all” and believes that elections should sound the “voice of a generation”.
Speaking about the Soviet legacy, Sobchak promised if elected to rebury the body of Lenin, which caused a negative reaction in the Communist party. While the former leading the “House 2” has admitted in the absence of its own political agenda.
By results of poll of Fund “Public opinion” (FOM) in may 2017, half of Russians (50%) positively evaluate the activities of Stalin during the great Patriotic war. Negative assessment of Stalin gave only 8% of study participants.
