WASHINGTON, Oct 28 — RIA Novosti. The U.S. committed to diplomatic solution of the issue with North Korea, but there are several military options, said Pentagon chief James Mattis after talks with South Korean counterpart the Dream-Yung Mu.
“Our military options, as I mentioned, was designed to complement the efforts of our diplomats on the creation of the restraining position and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” the General said. His statement quotes the press service of the Pentagon in the document, placed at the disposal of RIA Novosti.
According to him, should “accept the reality” that “the regime of Kim Jong-UN, to the North of the demilitarized zone, threatening peace and stability and, of course, directly aimed against the people’s Republic of Korea”.

Mattis also said that the nuclear threat from North Korea have increased, but, according to him, the United States will never recognize North Korea a nuclear power. Any attack by Pyongyang on the United States and its allies defeated, the General added. “Any use of nuclear weapons by the North would be accompanied by massive military response”, — said the head of the Pentagon.
Visit Mattis in Seoul started on 27 of October. Consultations of the military departments are ahead of his visit to South Korea of US President Donald trump.
