The new Zealand party was ordered to pay $415 thousand for the use of Eminem’s songs
The new Zealand court ordered the National party of New Zealand to pay $415 thousand for the fact that she used the song Lose Yourself by American rapper Eminem in a campaign video in 2014 without the permission of the copyright holder, Fox News reports.
The copyright of the song belong to the record label Eight Mile Style. During the hearing, the court found that the song was used 186 times in the course of the successful party election campaign in 2014.
The party was trying to prove that it was used similar to “Lose Yourself” song, but her arguments proved unconvincing to the court.
