Orthodox scattered pieces of silver at the premiere of “Matilda” and thought about Judas

Members of the movement “forty times Forty” staged a protest in front of the Moscow cinema “October” on Novy Arbat, where a premiere of a film by Alexei Uchitel “Matilda”, the TV channel “360”.

Long before the appearance of the film on the screens it caused intense criticism from Orthodox activists. On their side stood the Deputy of the state Duma Natalia Poklonskaya, who demanded to ban the film and recognize it as an extremist. She has written over 40 appeals to the Prosecutor General with the requirement to check the tape for violations of the law. Nothing illegal in the film was found.

The plot of “Matilda” the Teacher is built around the novel of the future Emperor Nicholas II and the ballerina Mathilde Kshesinskaia. In the picture there are sex scenes of the crown Prince with a dancer, so part of the believers believes that in this way the film offends their feelings.
