In Thailand began a five-day funeral ceremony of king Rama IX

Cremation will take place later in the evening of 26 October, the ceremony will be attended by delegates from more than 40 States.

BANGKOK, 25 October. /TASS/. The five-day funeral ceremony of king Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), who ruled Thailand for over 70 years, began on Wednesday with the reading of Buddhist mantras.

The ceremony was broadcast live by leading TV channels of the country.

In the throne room in the Grand Royal Palace, where the coffin the urn with the body of the deceased, the monks prayed in the presence of the only son of the monarch is king Rama X, and members of the Royal family.
