The command of the Bundeswehr (German army) appointed for the first time transgender Anastasia Bifang for the position of battalion commander. About it reports TV channel RBB 24.
According to Colonel Bifang, she always felt a little inferior, however, preferred to put up with it to 40 years. At some point she decided to undergo hormone therapy and a few surgeries.
Bifang took office on Wednesday,October 18. She is in the ranks of the Bundeswehr for 23 years. The woman led the 381-th communications battalion and security in the town of Duisburg (Federal state Brandenburg), the personnel of which employs 750 people.
43-year-old Bifang noted that the staff normally took a decision from senior management on her appointment. It intends to actively defend the rights and interests of transgender people.
