The Kiev district court of Kharkov for two months have arrested a 20-year-old Elena Zaitseva, October 18, which killed five people in the city centre. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“The judge decided the petition of the investigator on criminal case about application of a preventive measure in the form of detention (pretrial detention) in respect Zaitseva meet, apply in relation Zaitseva a measure of restraint in form of detention for 60 days until December 16, 2017, inclusive, without setting bond,” — said the judge Svetlana Muratova.
On Friday it became known that Zaitsev at the time of the accident was under the influence of opiates. Before Zaitsev denied that he took drugs.
Lexus, at the wheel which was Zaitseva, crashed into a group of people in the evening of 18 October. Five people were killed (according to other data, six), six more were taken to hospitals with injuries of varying severity.
