In USA American given 15 years for trying to join the “Dzhebhat EN-Nusra”

MOSCOW, 20 Oct — RIA Novosti. The court of the American city of Chicago was sentenced to 15 years in prison, a young American, trying to join a terrorist group “dzhebhat an-Nusra” in Syria*, according to the newspaper Chicago Sun-Times.

In April 2013, U.S. authorities arrested 18-year-old Abdella Ahmad Tunisi in the Chicago airport. According to the prosecution, he was trying to get through Turkey to Syria to join the militants. Later he was charged with terrorism.

According to the prosecution, Tunisi tried to provide material support to terrorist organizations. In addition, he was ready to organize a terrorist attack using explosives, which he received from intelligence agents, posing as members of the terrorist group. In August 2015 a young man has pleaded guilty to attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist group.

During the court hearings, which disclosed the sentence, Tunisia and other countries thanked the U.S. government for saving his life.
