“We’re watching what happens there. The situation is far from stable,” — said the representative of the Kremlin.

The day before, October 17, at the Parliament building held a large rally. It was organized by the party “Movement new forces,” the ex-Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili, the party “Samopomich” and Association “Freedom”. The activists demanded to abolish parliamentary immunity, to amend electoral legislation and establish an anti-corruption court. At the end of the protest against policy of the Ukrainian authorities, protesters have pitched tents in the Plaza of the Constitution.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko and the head of the National police of the country Sergey Knyazev has declared that does not intend to demolish the tent camp. According to Lutsenko, a peaceful protest is one of the main achievements of the Maidan.
