Vasily Yurchenko
The Central district court of Novosibirsk found former Governor of Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko guilty of abuse of office. It is reported by the reporter of RIA Novosti news Agency , who was present at the sentencing hearing.
“Yurchenko Vasily Alekseevich has committed an intentional crime,” said judge Alla Fun.
The prosecution previously asked the court to appoint Yurchenko sentence of four years in prison. The lawyers and the accused maintained his innocence in connection with absence of structure of a crime and demanded an acquittal.
The last word the former Governor called the case against him is fabricated and based on assumptions and speculation.
In November 2015 in Novosibirsk was transferred to the court case against the former Governor of the region Vasily Yurchenko accused of abuse of office. In March 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent Yurchenko resigned in connection with loss of trust.
