Scientists have uncovered an unusual link between depression and headaches

MOSCOW, 18 Jul — RIA Novosti. People suffering from frequent headaches and migraines, are much more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety than other people, found physicians, published an article in the journal Headache.

“This discovery tells us that drugs that reduce the frequency and strength of headaches, can besides decrease the chance of developing depression and depressed mood in these same patients,” said Fu-Chi Yang from the National medical center of Taiwan (China).

Migraine is a neurological disease, the most frequent and characteristic symptom of which is occasional or regular strong and painful headaches in one half of the head. The causes of pain can be different — physical stress, food, weather factors, lack of sleep, and much more. As a rule, women suffer more migraines than men.
