Lavrov urged the youth to teach politicians to agree

The participants of the international festival of youth and students in Sochi is able to compensate for what can’t negotiate policies at senior level. This opinion was expressed by Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in the course held in the framework of the event discussions “global policy and its agenda: how to protect the world.” It is reported RIA Novosti on Monday, October 16.

“We need to use festival and similar events, cultural and educational exchange to a new generation of politicians have learned to listen to each other, to take into account the approaches of their partner when making decisions. Due to the cultural educational exchange understand from the inside the people with whom you will interact,” said Lavrov.

The Minister stressed the need to overcome “the situation, when politicians make decisions to the detriment of their people.” For this purpose, including need to know the culture, the history, the origin of the tradition, he said. Lavrov also said that the foreign Ministry is supporting the initiators of such projects only moral and political support.

Sunday, October 15, in Sochi started the Festival of youth and students under the slogan: “We are fighting against imperialism — respecting our past, we build our future!”. The event was opened by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. In his speech he stated that the barriers are powerless in the face of friendship and human communication does not depend on political, national and religious differences.

World festival of youth and students held in Russia for the third time. In 1957 and 1985 it took place in Moscow. The event in Sochi will last until 22 October, with the participation of about 30 thousand people from 180 countries.
