Turkish soldiers and armored vehicles entered Syria

Turkish troops and heavy military equipment came to the Syrian province of Idlib in the night of Friday, October 13. About it reports Reuters.

According to NTV, the border with Syria have crossed eight Turkish tanks, 50 armored personnel carriers and about 200 soldiers.

On 9 October, the Turkish General staff announced the start of operations in Idlib. The Prime Minister of Turkey, Binali Yildirim stressed that Turkey acts within the framework of agreements in Astana and coordinates their actions in Idlib with Moscow.

22 September, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that under the agreement, Moscow will provide security outside the province, and Ankara — inside her.

The week before the guarantor countries of the Syrian peace settlement — Russia, Turkey and Iran — have agreed on the boundaries of the zone of de-escalation in Idlib province. The parties have pledged to deploy troops to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire in Idlib, Latakia, Hama and Aleppo. In addition, for monitoring in these areas should be created a single focal point.

In a joint statement indicated that the creation of such zones is a temporary measure, designed for six months with possibility of extension.
