Director of the Department for nonproliferation and arms control of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Ulyanov said that Moscow is inclined to the version staged nature of the incident with chemical munitions in the Syrian Khan Sheyhun, which occurred April 4. “We expect that it will be carefully studied and the version of the staged nature of this incident, which, to be honest, we incline more and more,” — said Ulyanov in the briefing on the subject of Syrian chemical dossier on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
He also pointed out that the report of the joint investigation mechanism of the OPCW and the UN on the results of the investigation of the incident in Khan Sheyhun will be presented on October 26.
April 4 at the town of Khan Shaykhun was dumped chemical munitions, killing 87 people, injured about 200. The Syrian opposition and Western countries accuse the air force attack by Syrian government forces. In Damascus said that the army did not use and not to use chemical weapons on the battlefield.
