USA took advantage of the hysteria around the Russian-Belarusian military exercises “West-2017” and deployed in Poland armored division. On Thursday, October 12, said the Ministry of defense of Russia, reports TASS.
“Amid hysteria about a planned military invasion of Russia with military exercises “Zapad-2017″ in Poland quietly arrived 2nd armoured brigade of the US and turned there also with his armor. At the same time Poland and the Baltic republics will not go away left the military equipment of the 3rd American armoured brigade,” said Agency spokesman Igor Konashenkov.
He stressed that, thus, US claims of “insignificance” of the troops, strapped to the Russian borders do not correspond to reality. Konashenkov explained that actually in Poland not already deployed brigade, a mechanized division, “where for two hours you can transfer trained personnel from the nearby American base in Europe.”
Thus, the defense Ministry came to the conclusion that the concerns expressed by the Baltic States in connection with the Russian maneuvers, “the information fraudulently won back the veil of this operation”.
Joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus “West-2017” was held from 14 to 20 September. They were involved in up to 12.7 thousand servicemen, up to 70 aircraft and helicopters, and 680 pieces of equipment. Similar joint exercises held in 2009 and 2013.
