The Ministry of Finance refused the defense Ministry to increase the salaries of the military
The Finance Ministry rejected the proposals of the defense Ministry to increase the salaries of the military, having decided to index them by only 4%. This increase in allowances is not enough, it follows from the conclusion of the Duma Committee on defense.
Complaints about salary
The state Duma Committee on defense was deemed insufficient by the Ministry of Finance proposed size of the indexation of money allowances of servicemen. This conclusion follows from the conclusion of the defense Committee on the draft law “On the Federal budget for 2018 and the planning period of 2019 and 2020”.
In the budget the next three years laid the indexation of money allowances for servicemen and law enforcement officers, which five years were not indexed, announced on 2 October the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov. From the materials to the draft budget implies that the monetary allowance of military and paramilitary personnel security forces will be indexed annually by 4% forecast for inflation, as salaries of public sector employees, Federal civil servants and parliamentarians.
The salaries of military has remained unchanged from 2013, although according to the law on military pay the salaries for military posts and titles should be indexed annually with inflation, says the Duma Committee under the chairmanship of Vladimir Shamanov.
“We do, maybe even too efficiently fit in this part. But now we are, despite all the difficulties, we understand that it is necessary to ensure the growth of salaries of servicemen and employees of law enforcement bodies”, — said last week Siluanov (quoted by the Ministry of Finance website).
However, the General price level in the country, while the salaries of military personnel were not adjusted for inflation, rose by 46%, the cost of the minimum set of food products increased by almost 60%, according to the defense Committee.
To the salaries of military personnel remained below the average wage in key sectors of the economy, the Ministry of defense in the preparation of the draft Federal budget developed and sent to the Ministry two options of calculations on indexation of money allowances for servicemen, the authors conclusions, but the proposals are “not reflected” in the final draft budget.
