Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov hold Washington responsible for the deterioration of relations between the two countries. He declared it on air of TV channel “Russia 24”, reports RIA Novosti.
“The responsibility for violation of norms of inter-state relations rests solely with the official Washington. We demand to immediately cease the systematic seizure of our property in the United States, accompanied by offensive action, to return the flags on the buildings belonging to Russia, and to prevent similar in the future,” he said.
Antonov also said that Russia considers the recent actions of the USA with state flags of the Russian Federation over the buildings of Russian property in San Francisco and Washington as “extremely unfriendly steps, contrary to previously unheard from official Washington’s assurances in the desire to establish bilateral relations”.
In the night of Thursday, with the building of the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco and the Russian trade mission in Washington, were removed state flags of the Russian Federation. The US state Department said that the flags are stored in buildings, but declined to say why it was done and when the Russian state symbols will be returned to the place.
