Patriarch Kirill warned the priests bloggers from turning into clowns

The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill has supported the activities of the priests of bloggers, but urged them not to try to use the Internet slang. He stated this at a meeting with participants of the I International communication forum MediaPost reported on Tuesday, October 10, TASS.

“If our priests use the artificial language adopted in some environment, then they are unnatural, because in the temple they do not speak. And that includes the computer, someone from the congregation and sees a father playing the fool, the clown turns”, — said the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, calling such behaviour is unacceptable.

How explained to Agency a press-the Secretary of the Patriarch Alexander Volkov, some of the priests leading the blogs, choose the “quite unexpected” ways of communicating with the flock.

Earlier in July it was reported that priests of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) will become the youth youtubers in the framework of the project “the Priest-blogger”. The founders of the project emphasized that the main theme of vlogging will be love: priests are going to talk about the relationship between a man and a woman and to share with followers the details of his personal life.

In September, Patriarch Kirill has threatened retirement dissenting priests. He noted that he speaks “the wisdom of the whole episcopate of the Russian Orthodox Church” and no other way but to follow strictly his instructions, the Church is not.
