The government of Moscow region and representatives of the Japanese company Hino signed a cooperation agreement. This was reported on the website of the regional government on Monday, 9 October.
“We are honored that you have decided on the placement of their production here in the suburbs. We are ready to cooperate and open. I am sure that the plant and the Corporation will succeed and we will do everything we can,” said the head of the region Andrei Vorobyov at the meeting with Japanese businessmen.
At the suggestion of the Moscow government, the plant will be built in Khimki. Representatives of the group Hino noted that the chosen place has excellent transport accessibility and proximity to the airport.
The new facility will assemble small – and medium-duty trucks brand Hino 300 series and 500 weight 3,5; 7,5; 12 and 18 tons. It is planned that the design of the plant will begin in the fourth quarter of 2017, and the production of trucks in 2019. Production capacity will amount to approximately two thousand cars a year. The volume of investments is estimated at $ 17 million, to be confirmed in the material.
September 22, Andrei Vorobyov took part in the opening of the new plant of the Mexican company Gruma “the Sun of Mexico”, which will produce tortillas, corn flour and chips. The company is located in the special economic area “Stupino Square”.
On 15 September it was reported that the authorities of Moscow region have made the Finnish companies Valio and Huhtamaki proposals for development in the region in 2018.
