Tour operators predicted a rise in price of permits because of the collapse of “VIM-Avia”

The collapse of “VIM-Avia” can lead to a rise in price of vacation packages in the summer of 2018 by 10-20 percent. About it the newspaper “Vedomosti” said sources in the tourism market.

It is noted that stronger prices will increase in those areas where the carrier served a significant part of the flights. In particular, we are talking about flights to Turkey, Greece and Cyprus. In addition, other stronger, more expensive flights to Sochi and Crimea.

According to the Executive Director of the Association of tour operators of Russia of Maya Lomidze, “VIM-Avia” accounted for 15 percent of the total market Charter. The expert noted that now in Russia there is no carrier able to transport such a number of tourists for such a low price.

According to Rosaviatsia, from January to August of 2017, the airline served 1.8 million passengers (31 percent more than in the same period last year).

General Director of tour operator “Mouzenidis travel” Alexander Tsandekidi noted that we can expect higher prices not only for Charter flights, but also on a regular.

Russian tour operators have stopped cooperation with the airline “VIM-Avia” from Saturday, 7 October. From 25 September, the carrier ceased to perform Charter flights for lack of Finance.
