The Pentagon chief urged to prepare for military conflict with North Korea

The US defence Secretary Jim Mattis said that the U.S. military must prepare for the use of force to resolve the situation with North Korea. On Monday, October 9, according to Reuters.

“The only thing that could make the US Army to be prepared for the fact that we have military options that our President can use, if necessary,” said Mattis in his speech at the annual conference of the American army.

He recalled that Washington and the UN continue to take diplomatic efforts to resolve the situation around nuclear and missile programs.

In recent months, the situation on the Korean Peninsula has escalated due to the ongoing missile and nuclear tests in North Korea, which caused strong dissatisfaction with the administration of U.S. President Donald trump caused another tightening of sanctions by the UN security Council.
