The Kremlin has assessed the impact of the sale of the Saudi Arabia missile systems “Triumph”

The interaction between Moscow and Riyadh are not aimed against third countries, said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. His words on Monday, October 9, the correspondent of “Tape.ru”.

“In General, cooperation between Moscow and Riyadh, especially the military-technical dimension of this cooperation is absolutely self-sufficient. (…) Therefore, we are convinced that this cooperation should not be a concern for anybody,” — said Peskov. So he answered the question, did the Kremlin geopolitical consequences of the sale to Saudi Arabia of s-400, which it is, according to media reports, may use them against Russia-friendly Iran.

Earlier Monday, the Federal service for military-technical cooperation confirmed the agreement with the Kingdom on deliveries of air defense systems s-400, anti-tank missile complexes “Kornet-EM”, systems TOS-1A, automatic grenade launcher systems AGS-30 and Kalashnikov AK-103. An agreement on the deal was reached at the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and king Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud.

Saudi Arabia became the third country for export of Triumphs. Previously, contracts had been concluded with Turkey and China. Commenting on an agreement with Ankara, a Kremlin spokesman said that no one has the right to criticize Russia and Turkey for military-technical cooperation, as it is not directed against third countries.

S-400 “Triumph” anti — aircraft missile system long-range, adopted into service in 2007. It is designed to destroy aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, including medium range, can be used against ground targets.
