Duma United Russia party elected a new leader and nominated candidate for Vice-speakers

MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Duma faction “United Russia” on Monday elected its new head. This took the post of Vice speaker of the lower house of Parliament Sergei Neverov, who succeeded Vladimir Vasiliev, previously appointed acting head of Dagestan.

In connection with the personnel changes in the Duma faction United Russia changes are expected on two governing bodies of the party, General Council and Central Executive Committee.

The new leader of the faction

The post of leader of the constitutional majority, which currently includes 341 MP, became vacant on 3 October, when Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and appointed acting head of the Republic Vladimir Vasiliev.
