Law enforcement officers detain participants in an unauthorized rally in St. Petersburg

All the detained participants of the last Saturday of protests in different cities of Russia released from police departments. About it RIA Novosti was informed in the press service of the Ministry.

“All those arrested were released”, — said the Agency, adding that a total of 71 drafted a Protocol on administrative offences. So, the representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs noted that detainees at a rally in St. Petersburg drew up a Protocol on violation of traffic rules because they came out on the roadway and interfere with traffic.

Earlier on 8 October, the Investigative Committee in St. Petersburg opened a criminal case under fact of death of 55-year-old woman, who had come by ambulance because of blocked tracks in the city centre. The case was brought on signs of the crime provided by part 1 of article 109 of the criminal code (“Causing death on imprudence”).

The interior Ministry did not specify whether the released detainees are supporters of the politician Alexei Navalny, who held a rally at Manezhnaya square in Moscow on Sunday, 8 October. The project “OVD-info” reported about the detention of at least 12 protesters in the capital.

October 7 in many Russian cities held rallies in support of Alexei Navalny, most of them were not agreed with local authorities. According to estimates of the Ministry of interior, in stock about 50 settlements where the event was not sanctioned, was attended by about five thousand people. In 35 cities, where the government agreed to the rallies, came out into the street 1.8 thousand people.

According to “OVD-info” in the course of the rallies on 7 October across Russia were detained 290 people. The Ministry of internal Affairs called another figure — 136. 60 of them are required to appear in court.
