Moscow outlined the position at the Nobel peace prize in 2017

You must respect the decision of the Nobel Committee for awarding the peace prize to the International campaign to ban nuclear weapons, ICAN, said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. His words to the correspondent “Tapes.ru” on Friday, October 6.

“Well known to our position repeatedly voiced by President [Vladimir] Putin to respect the importance and inevitability of nuclear parity, which is extremely important from the point of view of international security, international stability. You know consistent and active position of the Russian Federation, which is also formulated by President Putin, aimed at non-proliferation of nuclear weapons”, — said the press Secretary of the head of state.

He stressed that Russia is a responsible member of the nuclear club. Peskov also answered negatively to the question of whether upset in the Kremlin due to the fact that the Russian leader received the Nobel peace prize.

Earlier on Friday it became known that the Nobel peace prize was awarded to an international organization is ICAN that is fighting for the prohibition of nuclear weapons. Last year this award was awarded Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos for his efforts to resolve the conflict in the country.

The Nobel prize in 2017 increased to 9 million SEK (1,12 million dollars). This decision was made by the Board of Directors of the Nobel Foundation.
