Putin: sanctions used against Russia for unfair competition

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin believes that sanctions against Russia are used for unfair competition and harm the global economy. “A number of restrictions unilateral financial and so-called sectoral sanctions in energy is directly used by some of our partners for unfair competition, differently simply it is impossible to tell,” he said at the plenary session of the forum “Russian energy week”.

According to him, sanctions are used “to push its own interests and its own energy resources, despite their lack of competitiveness”. “The negative effect of such steps is obvious to the entire world economy, for the global energy,” he added.

The President stressed that the objective problems in the energy sector is not left alternative to the common decision of the countries of the world. “We want to work together to eliminate obstacles that hinder further economic growth of countries, especially developing States, which need guaranteed and affordable energy supply”, — said Putin.
