The Roman Coliseum was opened for tourists closed for 40 years top level

Moscow. 3 Oct. INTERFAX.RU Fifth, the upper level of the Colosseum will be open for tourists from November, passed on Tuesday the Western media with reference to Minister of culture of Italy Dario Franceschini.

“This level offers a splendid view of the Colosseum and Rome that the visitor will be remembered as one of the most beautiful things in my life,” media quoted the Minister.

Access to the upper level was closed to tourists for the last 40 years. To enter this level of the Colosseum, visitors need pre-book a place in the tour group, consisting of a maximum of 25 people.

In antiquity upper level of the Colosseum was meant for the lower strata of the population.
