The Ministry of health rejected the idea of fining parents for refusing to vaccinate children

Fining parents for non-vaccination of children in Russia will not. The Ministry of health refused to appropriate initiatives, reports TASS on Tuesday, October 3.

“Of course, we talked about the fact that there are different experiences, including punishment by ruble [for refusing vaccination], — said the Minister Veronika Skvortsova. But the fact that we can’t punish the parents through the children. This mechanism might work is not as theoretically it should work”.

Instead, the doctors will actively conduct outreach to such families.

On 17 September it was reported that the Ministry of health proposes to amend the terms of the insurance for failure to vaccinate children as it directly obligate their Agency can. “For example, if a child falls ill due to your fault, you refused his vaccination, can be important to the sick list you paid for not like everyone else”, — said Skvortsova.

The Minister stressed that Russia is a leader in the technology of forming the new vector vaccines and their quality is high and side effects are extremely rare.
