The President of Russia Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and appointed acting head of the Republic Vice-speaker of the state Duma and the head of the faction “United Russia” in Parliament of Vladimir Vasiliev.

“To appoint Vasiliev Vladimir Abdualievich acting head of the Republic of Dagestan, to the taking office of a person elected the Head of the Republic of Dagestan”, — said Putin signed the decree.

On his decision to appoint Vasiliev, the head of Dagestan, Putin said he personally held in the Kremlin meeting.

“I would really like to see a Republic headed by a person with experience in Federal work, the politician of Federal level. I want to ask You to perform the duties of the head of the Republic until September of next year, and then a lot will depend on You and what will happen at this almost a year”, — Putin said, calling Vasiliev, “the political heavyweight”.

Vasilyev said in response to that proposal from the President is “chest” and promised to do all that Putin did not regret his choice.

“The most important thing is that people also felt it is possible and necessary to make life better. I will try to do it honestly, responsibly people, for local people, of course. When I worked there in difficult times. If this trust you have given me, You and then the people of Dagestan, of course, will faithfully discharge their duty, relying on a very proud, very freedom-loving, talented multinational people of Dagestan, who I know neponaslyshke,” said newly minted head of the Republic.

The Deputy head of Regardie Sergei Melikov, who had previously been considered as a candidate for the post of head of Dagestan, the offer to lead the Republic refused, told RBC three sources close to the Kremlin and the administration of the Republic.

At the end of September 2017 sources RBC reported that Abdulatipov wrote a statement about his resignation from the post of the head of Dagestan. The next day he Abdulatipov announced his retirement at the session of people’s Assembly of Dagestan.

The speakers lamented the fact that in Moscow there are people who are “on the go shave rabbits.” “They impose, the President of [country] is not very popular decisions. But the President’s decision is not accepted without the will of the Almighty,” he was quoted Dagestani newspaper “Novoe Delo”.

Four sources of RBC was then informed that as the main candidate on a post of the head of Dagestan considers the Deputy Director of Regardie Sergei Melikov, who had previously held the post of Plenipotentiary of the President in Severo-the Caucasian Federal district.

The source of RBC in Regardie noted that if Melikov considered as a candidate, this is due to its origin as half of the Lezgins.

Vladimir Vasiliev among the possible candidates for the post of head of Dagestan, sources are not named, the more that the 68-year-old MP is not very well in line with the trend for the rejuvenation of governors. The appointment of Vasiliev was a surprise in Dagestan, told RBC a source close to the administration of the Republic.
