In Canada, a terrorist stabbed a police officer and brought down four pedestrians

In the canadian city of Edmonton (Alberta) man inflicted several knife wounds to the police officer and killing four pedestrians. Crime law enforcement called an act of terrorism, reports the Edmonton Journal.

“It is established that these incidents are being investigated as terrorist acts, in accordance with section 83.2 of the Criminal code,” — said the head of the Edmonton police Rod Knecht.

The attack was committed on Saturday evening local time. An unidentified man on a white Chevrolet Malibu was hit by the employee of law enforcement services. Police, blocking the road during a football match at the local stadium, after blow was thrown 4.5 meters. By crashing into the police car a law enforcement officer, the offender got out of his car and stabbed the victim several knife blows.

In the car fled on foot men arrived at the scene, police found the flag of the “Islamic state” (banned in Russia as a terrorist organization). The search for the offender took several hours. The suspect was found driving a truck: a 30-year-old man trying to escape from ten police cars, knocked down four pedestrians.

A law enforcement officer is taken to hospital, according to Knecht, his condition is not critical. Downed criminal pedestrians received medical assistance, the newspaper reports about the state of their health. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident. According to reports, the perpetrator acted alone.
