The President of Russia Vladimir Putin in telephone conversation has congratulated German Chancellor Angela Merkel with a victory in the parliamentary elections. This was reported on the Kremlin website on Tuesday, September 26.

It is noted that during the meeting the parties confirmed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial cooperation.

Before the press-Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that the elections to the Bundestag in Moscow is considered an internal affair of Germany, “respect the voice of voters and do not consider the possible results of this expression to comment on.”

On 24 September Germany elections to the Federal Assembly, where a majority of the votes received CDU/CSU Merkel — 32.9%. Second place went to the social Democrats, with 20.5 percent of votes. For the first time in its history, the Parliament passed far-right party “Alternative for Germany”. She took third place with about 13 percent of the vote. The representative of the Kremlin, commenting on the result of the opposition of the party of European right-wing, noted that the influence of right-wing parties in Russia is minimal.
