The government told about upcoming resignations of governors

In the near future the posts can leave the heads of several regions, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak. His words on Tuesday, September 26, RIA Novosti reported.

“First of all heads of subjects make decisions to continue to operate or terminate the authority. And the appointment of acting heads of regions — it is solely the prerogative of the President”, — said Kozak.

According to him, currently, is assessment of the efficiency of the Executive authorities of the constituent entities of Russia. “And, most likely, as a result of this assessment to this conclusion (about the termination of powers — approx. “Of the tape.ru”), the heads of regions come. I think there will be a few,” he added.

Earlier Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on dismissal from the post of Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev. The head of the region resigned at his own request. Acting Governor of the region appointed the first Deputy head of the Ministry of industry and trade Gleb Nikitin.

On 25 September the head of state accepted the resignation of Samara region Governor Nikolay Merkushkin. Acting head of the region was Dmitry Azarov.

Messages about upcoming resignations appeared in the media early in the week. In particular, the newspaper “Kommersant”, citing sources close to the presidential administration, announced personnel decisions in 10 constituent entities of the Federation. Among them, the interlocutors of the newspaper called the Samara, Ivanovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Murmansk, Novosibirsk and Omsk region. In addition, according to the newspaper, the governors may be replaced in the Nenets Autonomous district (NAO), the Krasnoyarsk and Altai territories, and in one or two regions in the North Caucasus.
