Putin held a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed prospects for a peaceful Syrian settlement in the context of the sixth international meeting on Syria, as well as the effectiveness of the format of the Astana, the press service of the Kremlin.

“They discussed the future prospects of the Syrian peace settlement in the context of the sixth international meeting on Syria, held in Astana on 14-15 September. It was noted that the Astana format has proved effective, helping to reduce the intensity of the conflict and improve the humanitarian situation in Syria”, — is spoken in the message.

The two leaders also touched on some topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including strengthening of integration in high-tech industries. In addition, in the course of the conversation was agreed upon schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels.

“International telephone conversations will continue throughout the day,” — said press Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, speaking on Monday with reporters.

Peskov also said that on Monday, the President will hold a series of workshops and meetings, including the agenda will feature regional themes.
