The Kremlin is monitoring information the main social and political channels in the Telegram, but does not put equality between them and traditional media, said press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. His words to the correspondent “Tapes.ru” on Monday, September 25.
“This is a phenomenon associated with technological development, channels of information delivery. Probably, we should not exaggerate the substantive quality of these resources, but at the same time is not, shall we say, abstracted from their existence”, — said Peskov.
Yesterday, the newspaper “Vedomosti” said that the Kremlin, interior Ministry, FSB and the defense Ministry have been monitoring Telegram channels, including anonymous. In the material quoted Peskov, who said that the messenger channels are monitored for the President. Press Secretary of the head of state also notes that, in his opinion, “much stuff”.
June 26, Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the possible closure of the Telegram, said that among the messengers “there is competition, there is choice.”
The state Duma has launched official accounts in VK, Instagram, Odnoklassniki, Twitter, Facebook and Telegram 27 APR. At the same time next day the lower house of Parliament refused to the channel in the Telegram.
